Developed by ACER (Association for Canadian Educational Resources), TreeCaching is a tree tagging system which uses QR code technology to access a web page housing information for a particular tree and/or feature along an existing trailway.
Watershed TreeCaching provides an opportunity for you and other trail users to embark on a self-guided tour of the landscape. With the aid of smart phone technology, you will learn about the tree species you encounter as well as interesting information about the cultural and natural heritage of our watersheds. All you have to do is follow these 3 simple steps:
Step 1: Download a QR code reader onto your smart phone or tablet;
Step 2: Find a QR coded tree at one of the locations on the map below;
Step 3: Scan the QR code and you’re on your way.
